FESTIVAL TEA
Mlle. Baronova Entertained A blue satin riband with a Russian welcome written in gold letters was presented to Mlle. Irina Baronova at the conclusion of the ‘‘festival tea” given in her honour yesterday by the D.I.C. management. A long table in the tearooms bad been beautifully decorated for the occasion with blue and pink shaded flowers in small gold baskets. The riband of welcome surmounted a large circular decoration of blue and pink asters and sweet peas which was placed in front of the guest of honour. Two Uelicate Dresden figures topped this and from their hands blue ribbons fell on either side and extended along the table’s length. Afternoon tea included many things of Russian influence, among them being sweet savouries and caviare. Mlle. Baronova, who was presented with a shoulder spray of flame petunias. wore a simple black frock and edge-to-edge coat. Her black hat was small anil held to the head with a broad band of ribbon. Mr. R. D. Thompson welcomed the guests of honour, who included besides Mlle. Baronova, Mr. Anton Dolin, Mr. Victor Dan'dre and Mr. Gernion Sevastianov. Mr. Dolin replied on behalf of his fellow artists. Included in the official party were Alesdames T. C. A. Hislop, IV. Sinim, Alan Sim, Creek, P. B. Cooke, Florence. Gerald IVilson, M. E. Tripe, Muriel Lewis (hostess), Dargan, Peter Sergei. C. E. Shoosmith, Miss E. Beere, General and Madame Merlin, Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Andrew, Mr. and Mrs. Allard, Misses Dudley, Jean Gilmer, Jean Ballantyne, K. Smith, Joan Beere, Rev. Grandville Earle, Messrs.
