4. French Envoy Hopes For Compromise (Received February 22, .1.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 21. The Nationalist Foreign Minister, General Jordana, has, gone to Barcelona to report to General Franco on his meeting with the French envoy. Senator Berard, slates a Burgos message. According to a Baris message it is understood that .Senator Berard is hopeful that: the meeting will result in a satisfactory compromise. Senator Berard wont to Burgos in order to discusw conditions permitting of de jure recognition of the nationalist authorities and involving assurances regarding the evacuation of foreigners.
