MIRAMAR ESPERANTISTS

Letter Evening To Be Held Correspondence from Esperantists in England, Germany. Denmark, France, Holland and Belgium was received at. the weekly meeting of the Miramar Esperanto Society. Mr. B. Potts presided. It was decided to hold a letter evening on .lune 5 and to announce the event in “Heroldo dp Esperanto.” the official organ of the International Esperanto League. Interesting letters of greeting would, it was hoped, be received from all parts of the world and new members in particular would have opportunities of engaging in correspondence with foreign Esperantists. In recognition of ten years’ service to the Esperanto movement in New Zealand, it was decided to make Mr. W. 11. King, D.8.E.A., ex-secretary of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, an honorary life member of the society. After the enrolment of new members classes proceeded for an hour under the guidance of several teachers. The entertainment opened with the reappearance of “Colonel Ebenezar Marzipan.’’ a character played by the president, and Mr. .1. E. Wells presented an original monologue. “Remante Boaton” ("Rowing a Boat”).
