Scheduled Range Changed On Saturday GUSTY CONDITIONS (By Aperture.) Though the range at Trentham ou Saturday was scheduled for 800 yards, the exceptionally strong rear fishtail gusty wind necessitated a change io the 300 yards range, and the consequently smaller targets. Such conditions resulted in the lowering of the general standard of marksmanship, but there were several fine individual performances, particularly those of Rifleman R. 11. Hunt (Suburbs), whose scores of 49 and 47 were specially meritorious, and of Rifleman W. H. Ballinger and D. E. Cameron (Petone), 94 each. The honours list for Saturday is es follows:— Highest double-range scores (possible 100) are; —Rifleman H. R. Hunt (Suburbs), 90; W. 11. Ballinger and D. E. Cameron (Petone), 94 each; and W. E E. Cropp and S. C. Higgins (Petone). T. H. R. Boon (Karori), T. Goodall (Suburbs), and F. Monk (Old Navals), 92 each. - Highest single-range scores (possible BO) are: —Riflemen I). E. Cameron (Petone), H. R. Hunt (Suburbs), and G. G. Murrell (Old Navals), 49 each; T. H. R. Boon (Karori), and F. Monk (Ok, Navals), 48 each; and W. H. Ballinger (Petone), 47 (2), W. F. Cropp and S. C. Higgins (Petone), R. J. Stewart (Karori), H. R. Hunt and O. Whiteman (Suburbs), and A. Smith (Old Navals), 47 each. The range for next Saturday for all clubs will be at 900 yards, and the formula for the allocation of squadding numbers will be number 3, and the squadding numbers for the clubs will be: — Karori, 1-4; Petone. 6-11; University, 13-14; Old Navals, 16-19; and Suburbs, 21-24. Petone Rifle Club. The Petone Rifle Club fired the fourth shoot of the third series in Trentham, the results also counting for the club championship, Flaws, Jackson, Longfield and Burridge aggregates.
