Mr. Philip B. Levy arrived at Wellington from Auckland on Saturday. Dr. L. G. Austin, who lias been touring the North Island, has returned to Wellington.

Mr. C. M. Hume, director of herdtesting in the Department of Agriculture, Wellington, is visiting Hamilton. The Hon. J. K. Archer, M.L.C., of Christchurch, accompanied by Mrs. Archer, arrived at Wellington from Auckland on Saturday. Mr. C. 11. Backhouse, general manager of the National Dairy Association of New Zealand, Limited, returned to Wellington on Saturday. The Hon. J. A. McCullough, M.L.C., Canterbury, arrived at Wellington by the steamer express from the south on Saturday.

Commissioned-Engineer J. P. Collins, who arrived at ’Wellington by the Tamaroa on Thursday, will join the Imperial escort vessel H.M.S. Wellington at Auckland.

Mr. M. S. Myers, Dunedin, president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, was a passenger for tlie south by the steamer express from Wellington on Saturday night. Professor A. IL Tocker, professor of economics at the Canterbury Univeisity College, was a passenger for Lyttelton by the steamer express from Wellington on Saturday night. Mr. E. R. Myers, Director of Pharmacy, who has been visiting Auckland in connexion with the Pharmacy Plan Industrial Committee, returned to Wellington on Saturday. Mr. C. Davis, North: Canterbury traveller for the D.1.C., Christchurch, was given a farewell morning tea in the private room of the D.I.C. tearoom recently. Mr. Davis leaves the company after 32 years’ service, having joined rhe staff in 1906. For the company, the Christchurch manager, Mr. 11. C. Hassall, presented Mr. Davis wit'll a cheque. Tlie presentation of a brass firescreen, log box, and fireside companion, was made to Mrs. Davis by departmental heads and friends on the staff. The general manager, Mr. M. S. Myers, spoke in appreciation of Mr. Davis’s long service witli tlie company. Other speakers were Mr. W. Robb and Mr. W. B. Elwood.
