Mr. P. M. Butler Withdraws From Ballot ( Mr. P. M. Butler, Wellington, who was nominated by a number of unions and trade councils to contest the ballot for the workers' representative to attend the LL.O. conference in Geneva, has announced his withdrawal. Mr. Butler said yesterday that the ballot paper containing the names of the five nominated candidates had been sent to the unions by the Department of Labour before the voting by trades councils, in which Mr. JRoberts (Christchurch) was successful. thus becoming the official candidate. Mr. Butler asked unions to strike his name off the ballot paper and support Mr, Roberts.
