“WILD GOVERNMENT” IN PRAGUE
M. Masaryk’s Allegation LONDON, January 20. The Prague correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” reports that it is officially stated that the Foreign Office is investigating appropriate action to be taken against M. Jan Masaryk, till recently Czech Minister in London, for a reported interview in the “New York Timos” on January 7, which included the statement: — “I would rather live as a simple citizen in a decent German province than as king of a Fascist Czechoslovakia, where, it is understood,''a wild Government is behaving badly.’,'
The Czechoslovak Legation in London recently announced the resignation of M. Jan Masaryk, after 14 years’ service in the London Legation as Counsellor and Minister. The resignation became effective on January 1, when he sailed for the United States on a private visit. On his return lie intends to live in England as a private citizen.
It is believed that he had wished to resign ever since the Munich Agreement, Imt delayed his action in order to aid the negotiations of the Czech Government for a loan from Britain and France.
