Offerings at the wool sales today were 8267 bales, including 4532 bales New Zealand, and 7726 were sold. A good selection met with a brisk and ready sale. , ~- • The home trade section was bidding Strongly for New’ Zealand crossbreds, of which there was an excellent clearance at full recent rates. . New Zealand greasy crossbred, Umapere,” made lOd. a pound average, and 10id, top; scoured crossbred “S over Hexton” sold at 12Id.
The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office under date January 215:—The wool sales continue with a' brisk market. Late rates are being fully maintained. Wellington Poultry Market Prices of live poultry in the Wellington market this week are quoted by Townsend and Paul, Ltd., as follows: — Fowls: White Leghorns, hens 1/-0 to 2/6 each, cockerels 10d. to 1/- a lb., pullets 5/- to 6/- each.
