WOULD-BE THIEF ELUDES CAPTURE

Householder Knocked Down Rushing ar. Mr. W. F. Curie in Ills home in Wellington South yesterday afternoon and knocking him down, a young man, who had evidently attempted to burgle the house, escaped. Mr. Curie had just returned to his home with his brother, Mr. A. L. Curie, when he encountered the young man. When Mr. Curie challenged the intruder he was knocked down. Entry was gained by forcing two of the doors at the rear of the house. As far as could the asertained nothing was stolen and it is assumed that the would-be thief was interrupted before he had time to take anything. Detectives are investigating.
