Miss Downie Stewart, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from the south.

Mrs. 11. Wyatt, Christchurch, will leave f*r Wellington on Tuesday te attend the annual conference of the. Navy League. She will be accompanied by her sister, Mrs. W. Tucker. Adelaide, who is her guest.

Vice-Admiral and Mrs. F. A. Sommervllle, Portsmouth, England, arrived at Wellington on Tuesday by the Rlmutaka. They are staying at the Hotel Cecil till tomorrow, when they will leave for Palmerston North to visit Professor and Mrs. Peren.

Mrs. P. Fraser, wife of the Minister of Education and Health,' is visiting Dunedin to address the graduates attending the home science refresher course.

Miss Maureen 1 >wyer. Day’s Bay, Wellington, has left on a holiday visit to Greymouth.

Mrs. G. A. Lawrence. Johnsonville, Wellington, left last night for Palmerston North, accompanying her husband who will attend the conference of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry. Miss E. M. Black, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. B. K. Bennett, Palmerston North. Miss Black is on a motor tour of the North Island together with Mrs. and Miss Nannestad, Wellington.

Miss Phyllis Wilton, Masterton, and Miss Winnie Bird, Carterton, left yesterday on a holiday visit to Christchurch.

Mrs. M.JKavanagh and Mrs. M. Hyde are Wellington,visitors to Wanganui. Mrs. D. O. Williams, Oriental Bay, Wellington, is spending a holiday with Mrs. H. Stuart Jones, New Plymouth.

Mrs. 0. McNaughton and Miss Gwen McNaughton, Auckland, who were Auckland visitors to Wellington for -the races, have been on a short visit to Mrs. J. Brown, Hawera.

Mrs. Lewis Griffiths, Christchurch, who has been visiting Mrs. H. Vavasour, Marlborough, is now the guest of her daughter. Mrs. Frank Fulton. Napier.

Miss Elaine Newton, Wanganui, who has been visiting Mt. Cook, is now staying with Mrs. H. T. Milnes, Christchurch.

Miss iM. Whiteside, Whakatane, and Miss Mario nPhillips, Auckland, who are on a tour of the North island, were recently the guests of Mrs. D. E. Williams, Westmere, and also of Mrs. Skeet, Ngaumu Road, Masterton. Mrs. Eric Skelton and her brother, Mr. Eric Loisel, Tolaga Bay, and the Misses Patsie Barker and Eileen Hegarty, Gisborne, are visiting Christchurch for the Loisel—-Acton-Adams wedding which took place yesterday.

Miss B. Ness was a Wellington visitor to Masterton for the weekend.

Returned To Wellington

Miss S. Preece, Wellington, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Stevens and Miss Betty Stevens, Kelburn, have returned home after visiting Dunedin and Christchurch.

Mr. and Mrs. Earle Andrew, Khandallah, have returned .to Wellington from a visit to the southern lakes. Mrs. Philip Hanna, Karori, Wellington, has returned from a month’s holiday in the Marlborough Sounds. Mrs. Ellen Castle, Wellington, has returned from a visit to Napier. Mrs. R. Kane, Wellington, who has been staying with,Miss C. Warburton, Palmerston North, has returned home with her daugnter, Miss Amy Kane, who has been motoring in the Rotorua district.

Miss Elza Martin, Wellington, has returned from a holiday in Waipawa, where she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Smith.

Miss Ordish, Day’s Bay, Wellington, has returned home from a visit to Netson and Motueka.

Returned Home

Miss Winifred Bruce, who has been spending a month’s holiday in Wellington, with Mrs. W. E. Arnold. Karori, has returned to Ashburton. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Elworthy, Timaru, and Mr. and Mrs. D. Gould, Christchurch, have returned from a short visit to Wellington. Mrs. Bruce Douglas, Glenesk, Canterbury, who has been spending a short holiday in Wellington, has returned home. Mrs: Holm Turnbull and the Misses Pauline and Theo Turnbull, Christchurch, who have been spending a fortnight’s holiday in Wellington, have returned home. Miss Monica Little, North Canterbury, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Lady Wigram, Christchurch, left Wellington last night on her return home. Mr. and Mrs! J. R. Nicholls and family have returned to Masterton, after a three weeks’ holiday at Day’s Bay, Wellington. Mrs. Erdington Goodwin, Auckland, and her daughters, the Misses Mollie and Margaret Goodwin, have returned home from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. G. R. Ritchie, Dunedin, left Wellington last, night by the steamer express for the south. Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Gooding, The Terrace, Lansdowne, Masterton, have returned by ear to Masterton. after touring Auckland. Returned From Abroad Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Anderson, Christchurch, returned home on Tuesday, after a visit, to Mrs. Anderson’s brother in Sydney, Captain W. P. Patterson, R.N., of H.M.S. Canberra, and Mrs. Patterson. Mr. and Mrs. Terence Gresson, who have been for a trip to Honolulu, have returned to Christchurch. On their way south, they visited Mr. Gresson's sister, Mrs. Coleman, Waipukurau. Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Lawson, Talavera Terrace, Wellington, have returned from a holiday in Sydney.
