Wellington Market Quiet government stocks firm Interest in Government loans was well maintained yesterday on the n eilmg ton Stock Exchange, but sellers were hard to find. The only recorded was sales of the 4 per cent, stock an 1 bonds, 1952-55, at £99. The share market was dull wnh an easier tendency, notably tor leading A tralian issues which receded in sympathy with the Melbourne and Sydney markets. Australian Glass remained at sellers being in at £t>/9/b. Colonial Sugars weakened further to x4</-/0, sellers asking £4S. G. J. Coles eased to business at 81/7J, buyers staying in at 81/-. There was no inquiry tor British Tobaccos, Broken Hill Proprietary, ■Burns, Philp or Electrolytic Zinc. Banks were quiet, with sellers offering New Zealands at 39/4. National of New Zealand were weak, business being done at 47/- and in Auckland at 46/3. Insurance shares were firm, Nationals being marked up to 15/4 and New Zealands to 53/-. Wellington Gas were firmer at 30/-. Meat freezing issues were weak. Woollens were steady at late rates. Sales recorded yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange were as follows:
