By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. DURBAN, January 23.
England won the third cricket Test against South Africa today by an innings and 13 runs.
In South Africa’s second innings of 353 runs, Mitchell gave no chances in compiling 109 runs, including 14 4’s. He was at the crease for 190 minutes.
Rowan played a defensive innings of 208 minutes for his tally of 67 runs, which did not include one boundary score. The M.C.C. bowlers were in command after tea, when, despite the poor light, the batsmen continued, apparently under instructions not to appeal. Details: — ENGLAND.—First innings.
