NEW HUTT CENTRAL SCHOOL

Official Opening On February 4

The official opening of the new Hutt Central School is to Lake place on Hie afternoon of Saturday, February 4. The ceremony is to be performed ’by the Minister of Education, Mr. Fraser, ami the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, is expected to be present.. Others at the opening will include the chairman, Mr. W. V. Dyer, and mcmlbers of the Wellington Education Board. The school, which is built on a site acquired some time ago, and having access to Railway Avenue. Hutt Road, and Victoria Street, lias eight rooms. There is also an administration block comprising Hie headmaster’s office, a library, staffroom, and bulk store. The building is designed on open-air principles, and is also heated throughout by gas air-heaters. Each classroom is finished off in an attractive and harmonious colour scheme, soft pastel shades of green, pale blue, pink and cream, having been used effectively.
