MASTERTON TOWN CLERK
Mr. J. F. Eames Appointed Dominion Special Service. MASTER TON, January 24. From 87 applicants, Mr. J. F. Eames was appointed town clerk of Masterton at a meeting of the Masterton Borough Council tonight. For the past 16 months Mr. Eames, who is 45 years of age, and who has had 28 years’ experience of local body administration. has been town clerk in Thames. He was town clerk and treasurer in Lower Hutt for live years, two years town clerk in New Brighton, and four years assistant town clerk at Lyttelton. Mr. Eames was assistant town clerk in Christchurch for 11 years, acting clerk on occasions, mid during the depression was honorary secretary of tlie Christchurch mayor’s relief fund. He resigned from (he Christchurch City Council staff on doctor's advice, and was appointed to his present position in October, 11137. He is a fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Secretaries, and a foundation member of the Now Zealand branch of the International Institute of Accountants. 'The vacancy on the staff of.the borough council occurred through the retirement of Mr. T. T. Denbec.
