Ministerial. The Hon. W. Nash, Minister of Finance, who has been out ot Wellington for the past week, is expected to return on Tuesday. The Hon. H. T. Armstrong, Minister of Housing, returned to Wellington yesterday from a visit of inspection to the State housing schemes in Dunedin and Christchurch.

Sir Alexander Herdman, who has been residing in England, was expected to leave London this week on his return to New Zealand. Mr. O. R. Ford arrived at Wellington from Auckland by train yesterday. Mr. D. E. Wanklyn left for Christchurch by air yesterday.

Mr. R. B. Ashe, of the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society, Ltd., left for Auckland by air yesterday. Mr. A. Cbruelius, of Gollin and Co., Ltd., left for Auckland by the Limited express,last night. Mr J Fletcher, of Fletcher Construction Co., Ltd., left for Auckland by the Limited express last night.

Captain F. E. Tether, marine superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, who has been in Auckland in connexion witli tile investlga lion into the lire on the Rimutaka, returned to Wellington by tlie Limited ex press yesterday. Dr. J. E. Giesen, Daunevirke, who returned to England to complete a special course in medicine, lias obtained his M.C.O.G. and M.D., London. Dr. Giesen has spent the last two years in London at Queen Charlotte’s Maternity Hospital and Samaritan Free Hospital tor Women, lie expects to return to New Zealand in Marell. The Rev. Father M. J. Burke, S.M., lias been appointed vice-rector of St. Bede’s College, Christchurch, succeeding tiie Rev. Father A. Cullen, S.M., who has been transferred as parish priest at Glenl/on, Brisbane. Other change,s on the college staff are:—Rev. Father B. Baillie, S.M., St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, replaces the Rev. Father I. Gupwell, S.M., who lias been transferred to St. Patrick's: the- Rev. Father B. F. Blake, S.M., who lias been studying at Oxford and Grenoble Universities, rejoins tlie staff, to which the Rev. Father F. Durniug, S.M., recently ordained, lias been added.
