THE FIRST EXHIBIT
Waterfall In Dominion Court DRESS REHEARSAL TODAY First actual exhibit installed in the Centennial Exhibition buildings in Rongotai, one of the two big waterfalls which are to stand one at either end of the Dominion Court will be seen in action today by members of the executive committee controlling the combined provincial exhibit. The waterfall, about 25 feet high, stands indoors at the east end of the huge hall,- now rapidly nearing completion. Entrance will be by two archways on either side and beneath the fall. Over a framework of woodwork artificial rocks have been created and actual water will tumble down a cascade between rocks and bushes into a basin below. Today the waterfall, though not yet completed, will give a dress rehearsal of its performance to permit the visitors to form a conception of what the final nature of the display will be.
The court, which is to take the form of a large-scale model of New Zealand, showing the main scenic attractions, cities and towns, and all aspects of pastoral and industrial life, is now entirely laid out in floor-plan. Committeemen will be able to see exactly what space has been allotted to every individual province and town. From now on, progress will be rapid. In a few months the mountains of both islands, Waitomo Caves, the Bowen Falls, a Maori village, and many other features will lie reproduced on a corresponding scale.
