"Beau Geste" To Be Remade With Gary Cooper
’PARAMOUNT has completed several X years of negotiations to produce a talking version of the famous “Beau Geste,” and Gary Cooper has been given the leading role, according to a message received by the company’s Wellington office.
Production is to begin this week
Paramount plans to make “Beau Geste” from the celebrated story by P. C. Wren on a lavish scale, and many of the important scenes will be taken in the deserts which are coolest at this time of the year in the northern hemisphere. Paramount made the silent film with Ronald Colman, William Powell, Noah Beery, Ralph and Neil Hamilton in the cast.
