GAMING CHARGES

Three Men Plead Guilty

DUNEDIN, January 19.

As the result of a raid'-by a party of detectives this afternoon upon premises suspected of being" used as a common gaming-house, three men were brought before Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court later in the day. Robert David Donaldson was charged with carrying on the business of bookmaker and John Charles Tooman and Ferguson Nicol were each charged with assisting in the management of a common gaming-house. All pleaded guilty to the charges and were remanded till January 25 for sentence. Donaldson was allowed bail at £2OO, bail for the other accused being fixed at £5O each.
