BARONESS FINED
After pleading guilty to a charge of shoplifting. Baroness Jeanne de Laga•tlnerie, aged 40. a French subject living in London, was lined £5 at Marlborough Street Court, London. The goods stolen were valued at 6/10. Detective Anning said that, when the woman was charged, site replied; "I don’t know what made me do it,” She had 8/1 in her possession. The officer added that the woman was married with three children. He understood that she and her husband were in a gown business in Mayfair.
