VALUELESS CHEQUE CHARGE
Henry Ernest Ferguson Samuel Lee, labourer, aged 3-1, was charged in the Jlagistrates’ Court, Petone, yesterday with obtaining from JI. D. Bouthorue, hardware merchant, on January 9, an alarm clock and £2/8/6 in cash by falsely representing that a cheque for £3, signed “Eric L. Riddiford,” was a good and valid order.
Detective-Sergeant F. N. Robinson said that accused was arrested in a rental car in Petone the previous night. Four other charges of issuing valuless cheques were pendjng; there would Ge two other charges in respect of alleged offences in Low£r Hutt and two in Wellington. Lee was remanded by Jlr. D. G.
