Union Cargo Service Tlie following are the movements of Union Company vessels engaged in its intercolonial cargo service:— The Gabriella, from Port Stephens, was to have left'Newcastle yesterday for Auckland and Opua. The Kaikorai is to load at Newcastle today and completes at Sydney for Wellington. The Kairanga is to load at Newcastle today and completes at Sydney for Auckland. The Kalingo is to load at Newcastle early in February and completes at Sydney for New Plymouth and Wanganui. The Karetu is to leave Dunedin today and Bluff tomorrow for Sydney. She will then load at Newcastle about January 23. completing at Sydney- for Bluff, Dunedin, Oamaru and Lyttelton. The Kauri, from Edithburg, will load at Adelaide tomorrow for Auckland, Napier aud Wellington, and completes at Melbourne for Auckland and Napier only- . The Omana, from Edithburg, Adelaide and Melbourne, is to leave New Plymouth today for Auckland and Wellington to complete discharge, and is due here on January 19. The Waikouaiti. from Newcastle, Port Stephens and Sydney, was to have left Bluff yesterday for Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton and Oamaru to complete discharge. NEW UNION STEAMER Komata Leaves Immingham Cable advice has been received by the L'niou Steam Ship Company that their new cargo vessel Komata sailed from Immingham, last Tuesday afternoon for Auckland aud Lyttelton, via the Panama Canal. She is due at Auckland about February 20. The Komata is a single screw steamer of 3850 tons gross designed for a service speed ot 12 knots. She is of the Arcform type and her cargo gear has been designed for rapid loading and discharging, the three cargo hatches, two forward and one aft of the machinery space, being served by 12 steam wlnehes and steel derricks. The vessel was'launched in October last bv Miss Barbara Grange, daughter of Mr. G R Grange, a director of Alexander Stephen' and Sons, the builders. Captain M . A. Gray is in command for the voyage out. Mr. A. Macdonald -is chief engineer and Mr. A. Knight is chief officer. Maetsuyeker At Auckland Johnston and Co. Ltd. have received a wireless message from the South I acme Line motor-ship Maetsuyeker, en route from Saigon, Singapore and Java, reporting that she expects to reach Auckland at 0 a.m. today. She is due at Wellington on Sunday to discharge and load and . will leave again on January 18 for Java, Singapore and Saigon, via Sydney. PORT ALMA IN PORT. To continue her Homeward loading, tlie Port Line motor-ship Port Alma is due at Wellington this morning from New Plymouth and will berth at the Glasgow Wharf. She will now leave again next Wednesday morning for Gisborne and Napier to‘fill up, and is scheduled to clear Napier linally on January 28 for Loudon via Cape Horn. RANGITIKI LEAVES LONDON. Cabled advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that its motor-liner Rangitiki left London last Friday for Auckland and Lyttelton. She is due at Auckland on February 9. PORT SAINT JOHN IN PORT. To continue discharge of her Montreal cargo to the agency of the Port Line, tlie M.-A.-N.Z. Line motor-ship Port Saiut John arrived at Wellington yesterday evening from Napier and berthed at Fryatt Quay. She will leave again on Saturday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete.

ROTORUA AT LONDON. The Federal Company has received cabled advice that the liner Rotorua reached London last Monday. She left Auckland on November 29 for London, Avonmouth, Cardiff, Liverpool and Glasgow*, via the Panama ’ Canal.

AUSTRALIAN TIMBER. . Tlie American steamer Susa’na will leave Dunedin today for Westport to bunker before returning to Western Australia to load a further cargo of hardwood timber tor New Zealand. She is expected at Auckland about the end of next month. The busana will be followed in March by the Lyle Shipping Company’s motor-ship Cape of Good Hope.

NEW PORT LINE MOTORSHIP. An order for a cargo motor-ship of 10.000 tons deadweight carrying capacity has been received from the Port Line by Joseph L. Thompson and Sons, Limited, Sunderland. ,

PORRESBANK WITH PHOSPHATE With phosphate from Nauru Island, the Bank Line motor-ship Forresbank has advised that she will arrive at Auckland on Sunday morning.

FOUR NEW BLUE STAR LINERS. The first of tlie four passenger and cargo motor-ships ordered by the Blue Star Line Limited, from Burmeister and Wain, Copenhagen, was due for delivery last month. She has been given the name California Star, and, like her sister ship, the Canadian Star, she is of 10,190 tons dw. ; with main dimensions 440 ft. length b.v OOt’t breadth and 39ft. depth to upper deck Most of her holds are equipped for the carriage of either fruit-or frozen meat, and propulsion is from a two-stroke double-acting B. and 51.
