Fair At First, But Rain Gradually Developing. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. today: — General situation: A fairly intense anti-cyclone is crossing the northern pait ol the Dominion, but a depression advancing across the Tasman Sea is already affecting the southern half of the South Island. . Forecast: —Winds: Light southerlies at first in the far north; otherwise northerlies prevailing and becoming strong in places south of New Ilymouti and Napier A change to southerlies advancing over the South Island during
