The Motor-car Problem
Tim problem ot the number of motorears which park on the beach on Sundays and holidays was considered at he monthly meeting ot the committee of the Titahi Progressive Association last week. Mr W. G. Shock presided, and there were also present Messrs. Bothainley, Wilson, Halliday. Johnston. Bird, Ihornton and R. Chuffey, secretary. It was decided to draw the attention of the authorities to the crowded condition of the beach at. weekends and to ask that the number of ears winch park on the beach should bo restricted, in order that bathers and children might enjoy a greater degree of safety , , , , 'The president reported that lie had attended a meeting of the newly-lormed 11tahi Bay Surf Life-Saving Club. Tlie committee decided to .continue its tree-planting policy, Io make application for more street lights, and to ask the Hutt Valley Power Board to provide better facilities for the payment of accounts It was also decided to ask the Post and Telegraph Department to install a public slot telephone or sound-proof cabinet at Titahi Bay post office. It was decided to request the Makara Count}’ Council to have certain fences moved back to their proper alignment and footpaths constructed in the principal St Thp S abnormal growth of grass on. the roads was discussed and it was considered that this might cause fires in dry wea- , ther.
