Helen Mack and Dick Foran Teamed
TTS cast headed by Edmund Lowe, Helen Mack and Dick Foran, “West Side Miracle” is now in production at the Universal studios. The film is based on an original story by Quentin Reynolds, famous magazine writer. It traces the career of a young boxer who is badly battered after being “doped” in a match, and is pulled through a fight for life life by a beautiful nurse. Later the young pugilist, though innocent, is sentenced to die for the murder of his lecherous ex-manager. In his second dramatic fight for life, he is aided by the nurse and a high-powered criminal attorney.
Making up a new romantic triangle are Foran, as the boxer, Miss Mack, the nurse, and Lowe, the lawyer. “West Side Miracle” marks the debut of Miss Mack and Foran on the Universal lot and is the latter’s first picture as a free-lance player. Arthur Lubin is directing from the screen play by Tom Lennon, with Burt Kelly as associate producer.
