Gable Heard But Not Seen In "Sweethearts"
ALTHOUGH Clark Gable’s name does not appear in the east of “Sweethearts,” his voice will be heard in the chorus of the title number. Herbert Stothart, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer composer, asked Clark Gable to join in when Gable visited Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy on the recording stage. Gable took his place in the chorus with Dr. Edouard Lippe, Eddy’s singing teacher, and contributed lustily to the number.
