MENACE OF ECONOMIC NATIONALISM
Attack By British Big Business On N.Z.
“UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND IMPROPER” By Telegraph.—Press Atten.—-Copyright (Received December 17, 1.30 a.in.) LONDON, December 16. The “News Chronicle," in a leader today, says that the attack made by the British Federation on New Zealand's import regulations is both improper and unconstitutional. “It is monstrous that, because New Zealand happens to have a Labour Government, which is initialing certain experiments. British big business should threaten to force the Government to take reprisals. Such action both menaces constitutional government and the Dominion's independence. “Mr. MacDonald recently spoke on the nationalism by which some dominions were bitten. We can imagine nothing so likely to break up the Empire as the federation's economic Rationalism.”
