The mornings programme was interesting, though Birthday Loy, Charade, Dictate and Arctic King, who were on the scene, were restricted to easy pace tasks. The best efforts of the morning wete those of Rollieker and Wyndora over sprint distances and Sir Tommy over a round. . , , , Olympus (McKenzie), brought borne by Beau Repaire l.Gollop) from the five, ran six furlongs in 1.23, the last five occupying 1.9 l-o. A useful half-mile effort was credited to Cheval de Volee (James), Tonncrre (Long) and Fleur d’Or (Smith), who ran the distance in 53 4-5, Cheval de Volee impressing by the manner m which he was revelling in his work at the end. Monacre (Long) finished clear of De Friend (Tinsley) and Golden Blonde (McKenzie) over five furlongs m 1.0. Mon Acre looks improved with racing and did her work well. Stansted (McKenzie), a fancied hurdles candidate for the Waipa meeting, went once round easily in 2.13 J. Jean Quex shaped pleasingly over halt a mile in 54 2-5. TKe best half-mile of the morning was that of the two-year-old Wyndora (Ensor), who was clear of Karatoke (Gollop) and Lyeander Lad (Thomson) _ in 53. V. Wyndora, a half-sister to Croupier, is 'entered for the latter days of the Auckland summer ' carnival and interest will attach to her form.at the fixture.
