AIM OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS

Blend Of The Cultural And The Technical

Dominion Special Service,

DANNEVIRKE, December 15.

"I look upon this school as a very important one. as it is showing other parte of the Dominion what, can be done in a secondary school of this size,” said the Minister' of Education, Mr. Fraser, at the prize-giving ceremony of the Dannevirke High School in the Town Hall last night. lie mentioned that the Dannevirke High School was one of the important pioneers of consolidation.. He had a personal interest in it, he said, and he wished to see it succeed, for it was schools of this type which were to be the schools of the future. He looked to the time when parents would not send their children away from their own district for secondary education when a well-balanc-ed education could be had nt their doors. “Many people mistrust educational progress.” said Mr. Fraser. “They fear. the cultural being displaced by the technical. What is really aimed at is a combination, 'rhe new educational projects hold no dangers.”
