Macqtter, professor of chemistry at the Jardin des Plantes, director of the French dveing industries, and superintendent o'f the State factory in Sevres for the manufacture of porcelain, wrote flic first dictionary of chemistry, a work so successful that it was translated into many languages. Mr. Coleby writes a clear, straightforward account of Maeqner’s researches, ami in doing so affords au insight into the state of chemistry iu France during the eighteenth century. THE INCARNATION "What Think Ye of Christ?” by Leslie Siiniiionds (Loudon: Centenary Press). This writer does not believe that the traditional Christian doctrine regarding the Incarnation needs to be altered to suit modern disbelief, but merely requires Io Ik? restated in the language of contemporary thought, with theological* noun racy of detinition t<> avoid misunderstanding.
