Auckland, at 5 p.m. on Monday. A most at tractive .programme has .been issued, and there should be a generous response bv owners. The Auckland Cup carries a stake of £959, and a gold cup valued at £5O. Second, third and tourta horses will receive £2OO. £lOO and £i'O respectively from the stake, which leavis £6OO and the cup as the winner's share of the prize-money. The limit has been fixed at 4.31. ami this should ensure a particularly strong entry. . According to a report published in Palmerston North this afternoon, the jockey, S Wilson/ who is in hospital as the result of his fall in Olaki hist Saturday, had suffered a relapse and was again seriously ill.
The position is that WiLon was more seriously injured about the head than was nt iirst thought, but during the week he made progress. That progress was not maintained today as expected, but his condition is not causing undue alarm.
