British Bill Introduced

RUGBY, December 8.
The president of the Board of Trade, Mr. Oliver Stanley, has introduced a Bill into the House of Commons to extend the powers of the board to give guarantees for the purpose of establishing or encouraging overseas trade, and the Bill was formally read the first time. It amends the Exports Guarantees Act of 1937. under which the aggregate amount, of the board’s liabilities at any time was £50,000,000. The maximum under the Bill is £75,000,000 with an additional £40,000,000 under another clause which authorises guarantees "iu connexion with any matter for which it appears expedient in the national interest that guarantees should be given.”
