Ministerial. The Hon. W. E. Barry, Minister of Internal Affairs, will return to Wellington from the South Island tomorrow. Herr Ernst Ramin, Consul-General for Germany in New Zealand, is visiting Auckland. Mr. E. J. Howard, M.P. for Christchurch South, was among the passengers to Wellington by tlie interislaud steamer express yesterday. Mr. 11. A. Beauchamp, managing director of Kodak (N.Z.), Ltd,, returned to Wellignton from Sydney by the Awatea yesterday, after an extensive overseas trip. Professor W. A. Sewell, chairman of the Professorial Board of Auckltnd University College, arrived at Wellington yesterday. Dr. H. E. Field, Professor of Education at Canterbury University College, arrived at Wellington by the interisland steamer express yesterday. The Rev. M. W. P. Lascelles, former secretary for the Baptist Union, has accepted a call to the Baptist Church in Cambridge. Be will begin his ministry early in February. Mr. Charles Clabburn, managing director of Makower, Mcßcath, and Co.. Ltd., returned to Wellington yesterday by tlie Awatea after a visit to Australia.
Dr. J. Hight, Rector of Canterbury College, arrived at Wellington yesterday for a meeting of the Academic Board of the New Zealand University, of which he is chairman. Colonel G. W. P. Grattan, chief secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, returned to Wellington by the Limited express from Auckland yesterday.
Mr. G. H. Symons, accountant, of tlie Port Line, London, and Mrs. Symons, arrived nt Auckland by tlie Port Auckland from England via New York. Mr. and Mrs. Symons left Auckland yesterday on a tour of tlie Dominion, after which they will sail for Australia. Mr. G. H. Mackley, general manager of railways, returned to Wellignton last night from Hamilton. Accompanied by departmental officers, Mr. Mackley left Wellington last week in the railcar Tokomaru on an official visit to the north Auckland district. Mr. T. If. Gibson, a director of the Canterbury Steam Shipping Company, returned to Wellington with Mrs. Gibson by I he Awatea from Sydney yesterday. They were accompanied by their son-in-law, Lieutenant-Commander G. C. Oldham, of the Navy Cilice, Melbourne, and Mrs. Oldham.
