WELLINGTON MOTOR CAMP
Disapproval Of Use For Golf As Well •*-
The AVellington City Council appeared to have solved the problem of a motor camp for Wellington by setting aside an area at Miramar for the purpose, staled a report which the executive of the Automobile Association (AVellington) received from its roads committee last night. "There is just one point on whiem the roads committee expresses its concern, and that is in regard to a suggestion made by an officer of the council that the area should be adapted for use as a golf course,” stated the report'. “The roads committee is of lhe opinion that the area should be set aside for use exclusively as a motor camp. If it is to be adapted for any other purpose then motor campers are deprived of that (legroi'.of privacy which they hope to obtain in a motor camp, and very often when an area is earmarked for'more than one purpose there is a tendency for conflict to arise between the different sections. It will be found, if a satisfactory camp is constructed, that there will be visitors to it over most periods of the year, and the roads committee recommends that representations should be made to the council to confine the use of the area entirely to that of ir motor eamp.” The report was adopted.
