Ministerial. The Hon. IL T. Armstrong, Minister of Labour, returned to Wellington from the South Island yesterday. The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, will leave Wellington for Auckland by the Limited express on Friday night. From Auckland lie will proceed to the East Coast. On Monday Mr. Semple and the Hou. I’. C. Webb, Minister of Mines, will inspect tlie oilboring operations in tlie Gisborne district. Tlie construction work on tiio East Coast railway line, the hydroelectric development work at Lake Waiktrreinoana, and (lie flood damage restoration work in Hawke’s Bay, will be inspected by Mr. Semple before lie returns to Wellington on Friday week.
Sir Albert Ellis was an arrival at Wellington yesterday from Auckland. Mr. T. T. Robins, Christchurch, is visiting "Wellington.
Tlie Hon. Mr. Justice Qtiilliani is visiting Hamilton. Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, mayor of Wellington, who has been indisposed for three weeks, attended his oilice in tlie Town Hall for an hour yesterday morning. He now hopes to be able to attend to his civic duties regularly. Mr. J. L. Hay, Wellington, travelled north by the Limited express last night. Tlie Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., returned to Wellington from tlie south yesterday.
Mr. C. M. Turrell, who lias been visiting tlie South Island, returned to Wellington yesterday. .Mr. 11. Horrocks, Whakatane, arrived at Wellington from tlie north yesterday. Mr. 11. L. Nathan returned to Wellington yesterday after a visit to tlie South Island. Mr. G. O. Sutton, secretary of tlie New Zealand Golf Council, lias gone to Dunedin to assist with the championship tournament.
Group Captain L. •M. isitt. Itoyal New Zealand Air Force, arrived at Wellington yesterday by tbe Limited express from Auckland.
Mr. E. P. Norman, town clerk of Wellington, returned from the South Island by (lie steamer express yesterday.
.Mi-. E. Critchley. Australian Trade Commissioner. left Wellington at the beginning of the week for Christchurch and Dunedin. .Mr. L. .1. Schmidt, general manager of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Tourist and Publicity, travelled south from Wellington last night by the steamer express. Mr. J. A. Gilmour, S.M., of the Industrial Court, arrived at Wellington from Christchurch by the steamer express yesterday, and left later for Auckland by air. Mr. D. E. Hansen, principal of the Christchurch Technical College, who has been granted leave of absence for health reasons, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Hie south.
