Negotiations With France
TOKIO, November 7. Troops and naval forces have begun an advance by three routes against Changsha, General Chiang Kai-shek’s headquarters on the Hankow-Canton railway. The naval forces have reached Kaiyu, half-way between Hankow and Yochow, and the troops, having occupied Puchi, Tsunghang, Kwashan, and Liukia, are now battering Fenshuling. It is officially announced that friendly negotiations between France and the Japanese are proceeding over tiie transport of arms across French Indo-China, which it is hoped wil be stopped shortly. There is no sign of necessity for Japan to take counter action.
