INTER-CLUB TENNIS

Record Entry Of Teams

There is a record entry in the Hutt Valley Lawn Tennis ' Sub-association’s inter-club competitions. This is .an . increase’ over last year of six teams, arid’ the management committee has.had some difficulty in finding sufficient courts to play the matches bn every Saturday. To overcome the difficulty clubs will have to. play fortnightly matches before Christmas, starting on Saturday, October 29, aud will revert to the three weekly periods after the holidays, starting on January. 2S, 1939. By this arrangement , the association will be able to complete the full draw, and also include the other association matches.. The uew intfr-club rules, which are now in the possession of each club, must be strictly adhered , to, particularly the rule regarding starting times of matches. The draw for the first round, to be played on Saturday, October 29, is: — Senior A: Lower Hutt A V. Walwetu, at Lower Hutt; Hutt Bowling v. Petone B, at Hutt Bowling; Eastern v. Petone A, at Petone; Muritai v. Lower Hutt B, at Muritai. /

Senior B: Muritai v. Upper Hutt, at Upper Hutt; T'alta v. Walwetu, at Walwetu; Lower Hutt v. Randwlek, at Randwlek; Burnside v. Trentham, at Trenthum. Junior North Section: Eastern v. Walwetu, at Eastern; Central v. Western Hutt, at Western Hutt; Hutt Bowling v. St. James, at St. James; St.'Peter’s and St. Paul’s v. Lower Hutt, at Lower Hutt.

Junior south section: Wllfoxd B v. St. Augustine’s B, at St. Augustine's; St. Augustine's A v. Pctone, at Petone; Wilf ford A v. Koro Koro, at Wilfdrd; Ponongil v. Murital, at Murital. Third grade: Taita v. St. Stephen’s, at Talta; Central v. Randwick, at Central; Western v. Lower Hut.t at Lower Hutt; Eastern v. Treutham, at Eastern. Fourth north section: Upper Hutt v.
