NEGOTIATIONS TO BE RESUMED

Incidents Considered Liquidated

LONDON, September 9. A message from Prague states that after a conference of two hours between the Prime Minister, Dr. Hodza, and Herr Kundt, the Parliamentary leader of the Sudetens, it was officially announced that it has been agreed that the Sudeten negotiations shall be resumed to-morrow. The incidents at Mahrisch Ostrau are considered to have been liquidated. Dr. Hodza has informed the Sudeten Germans that the Government has dismissed and arrested the director of police at Mahrisch Ostrau, and that similarly police officers accused of mishandling Sudetens have been arrested, also the policeman who is accused of Striking a deputy with a whip. The details of the Czech nationality proposals, previously withheld from publication in Czechoslovakia, will be published to-morrow. Opposition to concessions is increasingly strong among the Czechs. Still Delicate. The Australian Associated Press says that official circles emphasise that the situation is very delicate. It is understood that the Prime Minister, the Foreign Secretary, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer are now considering the dispatch of a Note to Berlin before the meeting of the British Cabinet on September 12, thus fully acquainting Herr Hitler, before he makes his final speech at the Nuremberg rally, of the consequences of precipitate action. It is understood that this is the outcome of the attitude of the German Foreign Minister, Herr von Ribbentrop, to the British Ambassador, Sir Nevile Henderson, ■which is regarded as unhelpful. The Berlin correspondent of the British United Press says that according to well-informed German sources in Nuremberg. Herr von Ribbentrop assured Sir Nevile Henderson that Germany desires a peaceful solution but insisted that the Czechs must assert their power to terminate terrorism of Sudetens.
