Party Held For A To-Day's Bride Atiss Noline Stubbs, Carterton, whose wedding to Mr. H. 11. Trapp, Wellington, will take place to-day, was the guest of honour recently at a "recipe party” given by her fiance’s sister, Miss Phyllis Trapp, at “Richmond," Carterton. The hostess wore a green knitted suit, and Miss Stubbs wore a daf-fodil-coloured, spring suit. Each guest brought, useful recipes for the bride-to-be, and Miss Trapp also presented her witli an up-to-date recipe book. Miss Stubbs thanked her friends for their forethought. All present wished Miss Stubbs every gooil fortune in her married life and in her new. home at Sydney. INTERESTING VISITOR Former Matron's Bravery Eot-merly q resident of Palmerston North, Miss J. Donaldson is revisiting the city and is staying witli Mrs Adam Burges, Featherston Street. Miss Donaldson was the first woman in the Dominion to receive the Royal Humane Society’s gold medal for conspicuous bravery. She rescued 13 children from a fire in the Waltham Orphanage when she was in charge of it as matron. Miss Donaldson now lives in retirement in Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. George Dixon. Ilomuera, Auckland, who rwently celebrated their golden wedding, are well known in Wellington. Mrs. Dixon is nt present visiting Wellington nnd is staying at tho Hotel Cecil.

Dannevirke women will be eagerly looking forward to the first visit for several years that Celia lias paid to the town, aiid this is just a reminder that Wednesday afternoon, September 14, and Thursday, the 15th. are the dates for Dannevirke, and she will be at Andrew’s Hotel. She is showing a lovely collection of charming printed silk summer frocks, ensembles, smart sports wear, Deval tailored frocks, and a splendid lot of linens.
