Auckland-Wellington Rugby Match JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY The principal event on the outdoor programme in Wellington this afternoon will be the annual trial of Rugby strength 'between Auckland and Wellington at Athletic Park. Play will start at 3 o’clock. A match will be played between Wellington and Marlborough art Blenheim this afternoon.
Other Rugby matches set down for decision to-day include: Reserve Bank v. National Bank, at Wakefield Park; Weir House v. Rest of University, at Kelburn Park; Johnsonville club. Married v. Single, at Johnsonville; Hutt v. Masterton, third grade match, at Strand Park. Association Football. Following are the Wellington Football Association’s first division fixtures for to-day:— First A Division, 2.45 p.m.: Waterside v. Diamonds, Basin No. 1; Marist v. Petone, Anderson Park No. 1; Seatoun v. Scottish Wanderers, Seatouu. First B Division, Final Victory Cup, 2.45 p.m.: Swifts or Lower Hutt v. Institute, Basin No. 2. Hutt Valley League: Championship and Telford Cup final, Moera Stop Out v. Lower Hutt, Petone Recreation ground. 1.15 p.m.
Men’s Hockey.
A hockey match will be played between junior teams representing Wellington and Canterbury at Karori Park to-day, play starting at 2.45 p.m. An intermediate grade match, Wellington College II v. Huia, will be played on Karori Park No. 3, at 2.45 p.m. Hutt Club Present and Past players will play a Stoupe Cup match on Hutt Park at 2.45 p.m.
The Wellington Hockey Club will play a match, Past v. Present, at Crawford Green, at 3 p.m. to-day. A game between junior and fourth grades will also be played. Harriers. Tlie Olympic Harrier Club will hold the Perston Baton relay race at Paremata to-day. The members of the club will be the guests of the president, Mr. J. Perston, and will assemble at Bunny .Street at 1.30 p.m. The race will be contested by teams of four men and the course will be a circuit of Paramata. harbour, a distance of 104 miles. The Presbyterian club will hold, its annual field day on Lyall Bay beach this afternoon, starting at 2.30 p.m.
The Scottish club will run from the Oriental Football Club’s gymnasium at 2.43 p.m. to-day.
Road Cy cling.
The Poneke Amateur Cycling Club will hold a combined senior and junior road race to-day. The course will be from Kaiwarra to Stoke’s Valley and back, a distance of 25 miles. The race will start at 2.30 p.m.
The Petone Amateur Cycling Club will hold a 36-mile road race to-day. The race will start from Kaiwarra at 1.30 p.m., and the 'course will be via Onslow Road, Johnsonville. Tawa FlatPahautanui and Haywards, and will finish at Petone.
The Wellington Cash Cycling Club will hold a 35-mile road race from the Grand National Hotel, Petone, at 2 p.m. The Golf Card.
Following is the golf programme for to-day:— Hutt: Fourball best-ball bogey. Waiwetu: Waiwetu v. Shandon, Watt Cup and Ranish Cup matches. Paekakariki: Paekakariki v. Titahi, Watt Cup and Ranish Cup matches.
Titahi: Tita-hi v. Paekakariki, Mary Alward Cup match. Shandon: Sliandon v. Waiwetu, Mary Alward Cup match. Wairarapa : Wairarapa v. Miramar. Karori: Monthly medal.
Tui Glen: Stalbleford bogey. Boulcott: Final round for president’s trophy, in conjunction with bogey competition, for men; semi-final for Lees trophy, and round for Mrs. Prince’s trophy, for women. Manor Park: Stableford for men: second round of mystery competition for women. Belmont: Bogey. :Stra?thmore Park: Medal rounds for men and women.
