WRESTLING CONTEST
The Wellington Wrestling Association is certain of a full house for its next wrestling contest, that between the New Zealand champion, Lofty Blomfield, and the former' world champion, Dean Detton. This match will be staged at the Wellington Town Hall on Monday, September 19. Preferential booking will be available next Monday and the general booking later. Blomfield and Dettmi met at Auckland a week or two ago and there has been much comment as to the legality of Blomlield's loss by a penalty fall after holding the ex-champion all the way. Blomfield asked for a re-match ami although all the principal associations had _ sought the match, the union allocated it to Wellington. This is the most important wrestling match to be staged in Wellington to date and as both men are at the top ot their form a hard, willing struggle is anticipated. Blomfield is out to regain his place at the top of the wrestling ladder in New Zealand, while Detton is leaving no stone unturned to secure a second win over the New Zealand champion, who’s prestige stands high in overseas rings.
