STOCKS AND SHARES

Wellington Market Dull PRICES GENERALLY WEAK A slightly increased volume of business was recorded yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange, but the share market was generally dull and prices were most y weak. Government loans showed little change from late rates, and sellers only figured in the local body debentures seetl°There was a fair inquiry for banks, but quotations were mostly easier. National of New Zealand were wanted at 51/6 and New Zealands at 41/10, with 28/3 offered for the D mortgage issue. Unions had buyers in at £B/7/-. Goldsbrough Morts weakened further to 26/10, sellers. 27/3. There was no demand for insurance, gas, coal, and brewery issues and very little for transport, woollen, and timber shares. Australian industrials were weakened by the coal-mining trouble.
