A section of land having a frontage of only 16ft. to Collins St., Melbourne, recently changed- hands for a sum of about £3-5,000, which works out at about £2187 a foot. The land, however, has a depth of 132 feet, leading back to a broad right-of-way. It was specially needed to open up a party wall and to provide a frontage for seven shops.
