FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Mostly Fair To Fine; Temperatures Cool.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending at 3 p.m. to-day: —
Thursday’s depression has moved south-eastward. Pressure has fallen at
Chatham Islands, but risen over New Zealand. Au anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia and extends on to the north Tasman Sea. The forecast is for winds, between south-west and south; strong at first in some exposed positions, but otherwise light to moderate. Seas moderate to rather rough north of Farewell Spit ami Kaikoura; elsewhere slight to moderate.
Moderate to strong but decreasing south-west to southerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea; seas moderate to rather rough, but decreasing. A few scattered showers probable at first, mainly in outlying coastal areas, but weather for the most part fair to fine. Temperatures cool with some frosts.
