LAUNCH OF THE MAURETANIA.—It is estimated that over * 100,000 watched the hull of the new Mauretania slide down the slipway and enter the water at Birkenhead on July 28. An innovation was that in addition to the breaking of the traditional bottle of champagne on the stem, the English and American flags which had covered the name were simultaneously released.
