MIRAMAR ESPERANTO SOCIETY
At the last weekly meeting of the Miramar Esperanto Society Mr. Bertram Potts presided. “La Kroniko” (“The Chronicle”), the weekly organ of the society, reported further successes abroad in the field of tourism. A paragraph conveyed greetings to New Zealand from Hungarian scouts. The use of Esperanto, it was said, was rapidly growing among scouts of many countries. Tuition followed in several groups. After the enrolment of new members the president said he wished to establish "La Zamenhofa Rondo,” an organisation to encourage Esperanto conversation and give plenty of practice to younger students. To this end he appointed Mr. James E. Wells ns “Gvidanto” (Guide) and Mrs. Annie Wells as “Help-Gvidanto” (Assistant Guide). The first initiate was Mr. James Mackay, followed by Messrs. William Smith and Colin Morrison. Each of the candidates, in a brief speech in Esperanto, expressed pleasure at the formation of the conversation circle.
