THEFT OF BEER
Three Men Sent To Prison

Invercargill, August 18.
George Thomas Laws, aged 47, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Mr. Abernethy, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court to-day on a charge of stealing beer. Accused was charged with the theft of one live-gallon jar of beer, one three-gallon jar and four dozen bottles of beer, valued at £4/10/6. Charles Frederick Rask and Thomas Hall appeared on similar charges and were .sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
