Quaint Accents From Paris

, Paris, August 5. TTNUSUAL decoration and quaint trimmings are the making _of dresses, however plain, and Paris jitst now is full of good ideas on this subject. French women always love plain clothes, but they give them new aspects by exercising their imagination. For picture evening gowns —a chiffon fichu, edged with a raffle in a contrasting colour, loosely knotted at the waist and with graceful ends. 'Another “Winterhalter” gown—one [luffed sleeve, one bare arm: a low square neck edged with laurel leaves. Bows to brighten a wool frock —one large bow at the round neck, ribbon threaded through from neck to waist, and another bow on the side of the waist.
Contrasting collar on a light wool dress-collar edged with tiers of multicoloured pom-poms. Dark suit cheered by large peter-pan collar embroidered in Austrian style witli edelweiss.
Long black gloves for evening with lace niching on the outer side from wrist, to elbow.
Rows of crosses embroidered in bright wool on a bolero. Each row ends with a tassle.
Tailored jacket with a braces line in a darker colour front and back. Strapless satin evening gown—its skirt opens wide to show a flounced taffetas petticoat.
