Committee

The first meeting of the newly-elect-ed management committee of the Wellingotn Lawn Tennis Associatiou was held last night. . Mr A. M. Pinkerton was elected chairman for the 1938-39 season. Mr. R. P. Cooper was elected deputychairman. A letter was received from the Hutt Valley Sub-Association stating that it had made application to the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association for direct affiliation to that. body. It wms pointed out. that the 21 clubs of the sub-association had a membership of more than 1000 members. The following were elected the delegates to the council of the New’ Zealand Lawn Tennis Association: Messrs. J. L. Mac Duff, A. C. W. Mantell-Hard-ing C. R. H. Donnell, A. M. Pinkerton. H. L. AVi.se. R. P. Cooper. L. H. Pollock. A. G. Smith, J J Nixon The committee placed on record its a- nreciation of the services of Mr A. H. Richards to Wellington tennis during the four years he was a member of the management committee, and a letter to that effect is to be forwarded to him. Members paid a tribute to his work, particularly in connection with ranking affairs. Mr. K. Dyer, a new member, and Mr. W. W. Stirling were welcomed to the committee by the old members who we re re-elected at the last annual meeting of the council.
