Begun two years ago, the work of renumbering houses ami sections throughout the Palmerston North city area is almost completed. The task, which is being carried out by the city engineer's department of the city council, involves more than 4500 numbers. While workmen have been altering the old numbers they have met with many refusals by householders to have the supposedly-unlttcky number 13 on their property, and other's who have houses on the corners of intersecting streets have objected to being given new addresses.
