Quarterly Dividend Declared

North Broken Hill Limited yesterday advised the Stock Exchange Association that tlie directors have declared a quarterly' dividend of sixpence a share, payable at Melbourne ou September 28. Transfer books will close on August 26. 'The company paid a dividend of 1/3 a share on December 8, 1937, another of Od. a share on March 25, and another of 6d. a share on June 28.

In the year ended June 30 last the Melbourne Steamship Co., Ltd., earned a net profit of £33,037, compared with £34,180 in the preceding year, and £20.244 in 1935-36. The preference dividend of 6 per cent, requires £1560, leaving £31,477 available for ordinary shareholders. Ordinary dividend has been raised from 6£ per cent, to 7 per cunt, (interim 31. final 3J), requiring £23,800.
